How?
1.Speaking and listening. In life, we spend most of our time speaking and listening and so, it should be the same in the classroom.
In Englishour our teachers constantly require the learners to speak, thereby empowering them to react appropriately in language situations outside of the school.
All of our materials are expertly designed in-house contributing to our status as leaders in the teaching of English as a foreign language.
2.Natural English. At the heart of our philosophy is the fact that English is not one, but two languages (See ‘philosophy’). In the school we offer extensive training, practice and most importantly understanding of the two sides of the English language. Our goal is for you to sound like a native!
3. Grammar. Although there is an emphasis on communication in Englishour, we take grammar very seriously indeed! To be able to manipulate language, you need to understand the underlying rules. Grammar makes you aware of language. It opens your eyes and your ears. In Englishour we believe that grammar is a beautiful thing and something which you will come to understand and even enjoy!
4.Writing. The ability to write well is important both socially and in the advancement of a career. There is no mystery to writing. We will show you simple and basic rules to ensure that you write well and accurately therefore giving you the confidence you deserve while functioning in an English-speaking environment.
5. Pronunciation. We are one of the few schools with pronunciation incorporated directly into our timetable because we believe that pronunciation is important! Using the right words is not enough - they must also be understood! English pronunciation can be subtle, and even confusing at times. At Englishour we take the confusion out of pronunciation and present it to you in a simple easy-to-understand way.
6. Phrasal verbs and idioms. As mentioned in the Natural English section, there are two sides to English, and we are experts at presenting both. 10. Our activities. In-class activities include tasks such as movie-making and creative writing. From the moment the students start their course they are required to complete tasks which relate to their personal needs. We also run an original after-school social programme which supplements the learning activities on your course.
11. Our materials. Learners will be familiar with being handed a generic textbook and being asked to “turn to page 12”. Not in Englishour. For our general English courses, we create ALL our own core materials which enable our students to learn English faster! We also design materials which are current and more relevant to our learners.
